SENTIMENT AND SIGHTSEEING

The lutcat talo by Miss Rosemary Roes, one <>f our Xew Zealand Jiovelists, bus in it, a touch of the oneu very popular Williamson book "The Lightning Conductor." The heroine of "Concealed Turning' , (Chupinuii and llall) runs awiiy from home on the eve of her marriagc to a man much older than herself, for whom she does not carp, and joins a parly that is "doing" England by motor car. Romance blossoms on the tour, and everything cuds happily. The likeness to "The Lightning Conductor" Huh in the blending of romance with description of scenery and historic spots. Miss Rees takes her read ere through the beautiful English countryside, driven by the man with whom the wanderer fails in love, and describes in a style that will appeal both to those who have seen England and those who have not, the delights of scenery and old associations. A fairy godmother has a good deal to do with the development of the story, but the publisher is justified in saving that the tale will appeal to all 'who are "liot too cynical to yield their fancy to enchantment."
