On page one "Cyrano" reviews "Germany's Roar 1 to Ruin," an account of prewar politics in Germany, and the third volume of Prince Bulow'e memoirs, which include the war period.
Mr. James Cowan's first volume of the "Legends of the Maori" series, which \va» reviewed some time ago in this paper, receives a column and a half in the latest '"Times Literary Supplement" to hand. 'J , he reviewer says that the book "is certainly one of the most important contributions to Maori scholarship since tlie appearance of Elsdon Best's classical work on the Maori in 1924, but with its scholarship it combines literary qualities which few, if u.ny, of its predecessors have equalled."
