RUSSIAN PETROL INTO DOMINION. , i Within a few months Russian petrol, lubricating oils and kerosene will be on sales in the Dominion. Associated Motorists' Petrol Co., Ltd., and Russian Oil ' Producers, Ltd., London, a British com- ' pany, have entered into a contract ' whereby the New Zealand company has J the _ exclusive monopoly for seven years ■ to import into New Zealand, distribute f and sell Russian petrol and oil. *
.Mr. E. A. Bait, a director of the' Associated Motorists' Petrol Co., said yesterday in Wellington that from the economic standpoint there was much that New Zealand could gain as the result ot the contract into which his company had entered. Russia was a large potential market for .such raw materials as New Zealand could produce. The importation of Russian oil into this country opened the door for valuable reciprocal trade between the two countries. Having such an exclusive monopolv, I his company would be in a stron- position, and would be important in the New Zealand market. The company wne now in the process of building its bulk installations, and just as soon as they were finished the first tanker would be en route.
