TO PROMOTE UNITY.

COMBINED CHURCHES' SERVICE. GATHERING IN TOWN HALL. Four city churches will co-operate in a epecial service of an unusual character to be held in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening next. The churches concerned are the Baptist Tabernacle, the Beresford Street Congregational, Pitt Street Methodist and St. James' Presbyterian, and the gathering ie to take the form of a united Communion service. The object of the combined service ie to promote unity among Christians and to demonstrate the essential agreement among the evangelical free churches. An invitation is extended to all Christians to take part. The collection will be devoted to the Mayo.'a Unemployment Fund.

The singing will be led by Mr. A. E. Wileon, at the Town' Hall organ, and there will be a combined choir of 150 voices. The ministers of the four churches concerned, and Drs. C. H. Laws and J. I. North will take part in the service.
