THE OTTAWA CONFERENCE.
Your sub-leader of tlie 7th inst. on unanimity of l Press an<l public re Ministers for Ottawa is to the point. It seems to me that the withdrawal of Mr. Forbes should clear any opinion that there was some little personal feeling in the matter. Mr. Coate.s probably thinking that if Mr. Forbes went and he was left, it might result in more prestige for tht former. Mr. Forbes is wise, and Mr. Coates would be also to follow his example. If they went their political position might suffer, and rightly, too. If they could be spared at the present juncture, what is the value of their leadership ? And doubtless others will ask the same question. My personal opinion is that Mr. Stewart should go. If any assistance Iβ required Mr. A. Park should *be sent; and these two should be ample. Ido not know Mr. Park personally or even by sight, but I noticed that when he did speak he put a lot in a few words. If the Economy Commission had heel composed of this gentleman and a competent chairman I believe their work would have progressed -much further. HOBO.
