LOYALTY REWARD.

NEW INDIAN POLICE MEDAL. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 8. The King has issued a Royal warrant creating a new decoration called the Indian Police Medal, for the recognition of meritorious services. The regular police forces in India, total about 200,000 officers and men. In recent years they have passed through a period of exceptional strain and their loyalty and devotion to duty have been of inestimable support to the Government in combating the forces of disorder. The new medal will be awarded by the Viceroy. It will be open to all ranks and also to members of regularly organised fire brigades in India. The issue of this new decoration for acts of gallantry and valuable services explains the absence from the recent Birthday Honours list of recognition of the work of the rank and file of the Indian police services.

In order to safeguard the value of the new decoration, the annual distribution will be limited to 200, and the first issue will take place shortly.

TO END BOYCOTT. BRITISH GOODS IN INDIA. LONDON, June S. The "Daily Express" savs steps are being taken in London and India to call "a conference of representatives of both countries with a view to ending the Indian boycott of British goods and restoring normal trade relations.
