REDUCED WAGES SOUGHT. APPLICATION BY EMPLOYERS. The first industrial dispute to be filed in Auckland by employers under the amended conditions of . the Industrial Arbitration and Conciliation Act. will be heard before the Conciliation Commissioner, Mr. P. Hally, on July 5. The workers concerned are the Retail Shop Assistants' Union. A dispute similar to that filed in Auckland has been filed in Dtmedin and Wellington, and the hearing in Auckland will probably be on a Dominion basis, the Dominion award having expired..The employers are seeking an all-round reduction in wages, particularly those of junior employees. The employees arc thoso engaged in soft goods, boots and shoes, fancy goods, leather fancy goods, hardware, crockery, stationery and furniture.
