NO LAND ACCEPTED AT GISBORNE. SEVERAL OFFERS RECEIVED. (Ry Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) GISBORNE, this day. Xo land has been accepted yet in the Gisborne district under the email farm settlement plan. A number of offers have been received from farmers, the totnl area involved being 1 between 350 and 400 acres, including a few 6uburban properties. Most owners, however, desire to sell their land, but the Government is not showing any inclination to purchase at present. A number of the properties offered are considered suitable for tho purposes of the scheme, but it has been impossible so far for the owners and the Government to agreo on terms. Other land is not so suitable, some blocks because they are too large, and also because owners will not consent to the Government taking only portions of the properties.
