BUILDING SUBSIDIES.

AWABD RATES WANTED. CHRISTCHURCH SUGGESTIONS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The payment of award rates of wages for all work carried out under the Unemployment Board's building subsidy scheme is one of the principal suggestions made by Christchurch. master builders, painters, plumbers and electricians, in a communication sent to the board. They have also suggested that private individuals employing men under the scheme be cited as parties to the award governing that branch of the industry, and that they be required immediately to pay award rates of wages. Another suggestion made is that money be let out on loan by the Unemployment Board for 10 years at a low rate of interest for the subsidising of wages.
