UNABLE TO ATTEND CONGRESS.

LONDON, June 2,

Although the Tope will not be able to attend the Eucharistio Congress in Dublin an official told "The Sun" representative that the Congress would be the occasion of the first personal broadcast by the Pope, who has arranged to convey a special message, probably in English, when the Papal Legate has inaugurated the proceedings at the ProCathedral on June 22.

The Pope will listen to the famous motet, "Thou Art Peter," hitherto sung only in his actual presence, the performers being the Pro-Cathedral choir. The Pope will also address the million persons expected to attend the Congress.

After the concluding ceremonies on June 20, his message of blessing will be broadcast along the 15 miles of the processional route.

Both Papal addresses will be broadeast all over the world by the new Free State high-power station at Athlone, which will enable the Pope to hear the Pontifical High Mass at Phoenix Park, with which the final ceremonies will be inaugurated on June 2(3.
