BRITISH SCIENTISTS . RETURN,
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 7. The research ship William Scoresby reached London yesterday after 19 months spent by the scientists on board in investigations in the South Atlantic and off the west coast of South America. For several months the scientists were
r engaged in biological and hydrological > work near South Georgia and the South ; Sandwich Islands. In March last, finding the ice favourable, they extended their > (observations as far as latitude 70 south, [ | obtaining results of great ecicntific ! value. r ■ I Afterwards the party surveyed the I 1 'Humboldt current off the we.st coast of South America, and from the autumn until their return they surveyed the trawling grounds near the Falkland Islands to obtain an accuratc estimate of their commercial possibilities. The William Scoresby is a small vessel. Her complement of 23 was under the command of Professor A. E. JollifTc.
