Mr. Justice Blair returned to Wellington from New Plymouth to-day. Mr. .Tas. Fletcher was a passenger for South by last night's Limited express. Sir H. Buckleton, who has been visiting Auckland, left for Wellington this afternoon. Mr. P. Hallr. Conciliation Commissioner, left Auckland for Wellington by tins afternoon's express. Mr. JT. A. Sommerville, secretary of the Auckland Hospital Board, left for Wellington by the Limited express last evening. Mr. W. E. Barnard, M.P. for Napier, was a passenger for the South by last night's Limited express. Canon Percival James was a passenger from Wellington to Auckland by this morning's Limited express. The Hon. 0. E. Maemillan, Minister of Agriculture, will return to Wellington at the end of the week. Sir James Gunson left Auckland for Wellington last evening to attend a meeting of the Railways Board. Sir Frederick Chapman is in Dunodin presiding at a meeting of the War Pensions Appeal Board. Mr. P. R. Climie, of the Unemployment Board, has arrived in Wellington from the South. Sir Apirana Xgata, Native Minister, who has been touring North Auckland, left for Wellington last evening. The Rev. W. C. Wood, a member of (lie Auckland Hospital Board, is attending a conference of the Hospifal Boards' Association in Wellington. Mr. Justice Adams is presiding at the Supreme Court sitting's at ''■ ■••-tport, after which he will return t<> .'ellington for a sitting of the Court 01 Appeal. Mr. Justice Frazer (chairman), Messrs. T. Jordan (Masterton) and L. Anderton (Auckland), members of the Transport Appeal Board, will leave Christchurch for Dunedin to-morrow. Mr. J. S. Webb, headmaster of the Worser Bay School, Wellington, who has served for 43J years in the teaching profession, retired on superannuation last week. Mr. J. F. Mackley, assistant-general manager for New Zealand Railways, returned to Wellington last night. Mr. E. T. Spidey, superintendent of workshops, was also a passenger by the same train. Mr. C. A. Woolley, of Mount Koskiu. the newly-appointed superintendent of the Wellington Fire Brigade, will take up his duties there on Saturday next. Mr. Woolley has been connected with fire brigade work in Auckland since he was 13 years of age. Dr. E. E. Porritt, of Wanganui, is visiting Auckland and will leave tomorrow for a tour of the North by motor car, accompanied by Mr. R. E. Chanvptaloup, touring manager for the Auckland Automobile Association. Dr. Porritt, who recently returned from England, is past president of the Wanganui Automobile Association. The Hon. R. Masters, Minister of Education, arrived at Frankton Junction by the Limited express this morning. He motored to Pukekohe and Otahuhu and officially opened the new junior high school at the latter place this afternoon. Mr. Masters will open the new intermediate school at Waihi to-morrow afternoon. Mr. A. D. Gaunt, accountant of the head office in New Zealand of the Commercial Bank of Australasia, has been appointed to the inspectors' department of the head office of the bank in Melbourne. Mr. Gaunt, who was formerly manager of the bank's branches at Newton (Auckland) and New Plymouth, is succeeded by Mr. F. B. Barber, late manager ai Wanganui and at Napier.
