FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. BUSINESS ONLY FAIR. RISE IN TOOTH'S BREWERY. A good number of sales were put through on the local Stock Exchange yesterday afternoon, but at this morning's call only two were added to the list. One of these was a transaction in Tooth's Brewery, which, at £1 0/6, showed a rise of 4/6 since the last sale a few weeks ago. After the sale there were still buyers at £1 6/, with holders asking £1 7/. Australian banks were firm, and buyers for Unions advanced their reserves to £(5 14/. Recent firmness in the insurance seciion was confirmed with a sale of South British yesterday afternoon at £2 9/9, a rise of 1/3, and at this morning's call £2 0/0 was offered, with buyers for New Zealand at £1 16/3. In the mining section Okaritos were quoted ex div., with buyers at 8/6. An inquiry was received for Farmers' Auctioneering B' profs, at 9/. Rates for Government stocks were virtually unchanged. The Noon Call. At the noon call Farmers' Trading ordinary 8/ shares sold at 3/9, a drop of 9d. Standard Insurance changed hands at £1 19/, the fh'st local sale this year.
