PIONEER NUN.

SISTER, MARIE, OF FIJI. ESTABLISHED NATIVE ORDER. (From Our Own Correspondent.) SUVA, June 1. For the first time in 24 years Sister Marie de Jesus recently came to see Suva. She has a notable history, in that she was the first nun to come to Fiji, 50 years ago. During her visit to Suva, where she joined in the annual retreat of the sisterhood, she celebrated her jubilee in Fiji. She first landed at Ovalau, and later went to the Catholic station of Solevn, Bua. She established an Order of native Fijian nuns, now numbering about 100. These women go through a novitiate and training similar to that of their white sisters. It is a wonderful record of eif-sacrificing effort and service. j
