RUGBY LEAGUE.

SECOND TEST IN SOUTH. CLASH WITH OTHER SPORTS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. At a meeting of the Canterbury Rugby League, the New Zealand League wrote stating that the second Test with the Enßlinh team would bo played at English Park, on .August 13. It was regretted that the game would meet with opposition from races (the Grand National meeting) and the Ranfnrly Shield fixture (with South Canterbury), but no change could be made in the date as the itinerary did not permit of variations.

Preference for British as against foreign blankets, shoes, boots, clothing for natives, and motor tyres, is given in the new Southern Rhodesian Customs duties.
