THE OTTAWA DELEGATION.
Your leader regarding our delegation to the Ottawa Conference is timely. It is astounding to think that our Cabinet Ministers have so little regard for the affairs of the Dominion that they, sanction the absence of the three most prominent men in politics at a time like this. Mr. Forbes' inclusion is only justified by the dignity of his office, otherwise Mr. Downie Stewart and a member of the Government, of lesser importance than the Prime Minister, with the four advisers chosen, should be capable of representing our interests.- The inclusion of Mr. Coates has no justification whatsoever, and your suggestion that he should withdraw, I am sure, will be endorsed throughout the Dominion. Mr. Coates must be reminded that the people who have, in the past paid the 3d and are now paying V '" the £ unemployment tax are far from satisfied with the method in which it is being squandered and that it is up to him to devote all his time ami capacity to the administration of the fund for the benefit of the community and the Dominion. If he his important charge seriously he will have no time to attend a conference which can be well covered by his colleagues. H.G.T.
