HUNTLY MINERS.

STOP-WORK MEETINGS. RATIONING WORK DISCUSSED. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") HUNTLY, this day. Secret ballots on the question of rationed work were taken ill five of the Huntly mines yesterday. As a policy matter, such ballots are being taken in every mine in New Zealand at the present time, and the results will not be known until the beginning of next week.

Xo work' was done , in the five mines in tlie district yesterday, stop-work meetings being held at Renown, Rotownro, Pukemiro, Glen Afton and Wilton collieries. It is believed that the men will be back at work on Monday. No work is done in the mines on Saturdavs.

It was learned yesterday that the Huntly miners agreed to ask the Hikurangi men to go back to work so that the conference between the miners and the owners on the matter of the new industrial agreement can go on.
