RAISING THE SCHOOL AGE.

I was pleased to notice that the Northcote School Committee is taking prompt action in connection with the above. At the recent meetings of householders protests were passed throughout the length and breadth of the country against the proposed exclusion of the five-year-olds, but no heed was given to their wishes. Unless the Act is repealed next session irreparable damage will be done to hundreds of our children. I suggest that mass meetings of parents be held throughout the country to agitate, for the repeal of the Act, as the' Government can hardly fail to act when it realises that fully 90 per cent of the voters are opposed to this particular piece of legislation.
