PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS.
I noticed "Citizen's" recent letter re "musicians and other professionals." Apart from the question of teaching, a musician of recognised ability submitting a. price for his services at a public or private function knows he has to compete with members of his fraternity who are in very dire straits and who are prepared to attend for practically their bread and butter. The general fees. offering at the present time arc approximately half of those of last year. Should "Citizen" care for actual figures, I would be glad to submit my quotation register for his perusal, and beside other professions he will agree that ours is not the one needing a " 'cut' of 20 per cent," ins favourite quotation. Tuition I paid two and five guineas for is being obtained for 30/ and £3 3/ by present students. BANDITE.
