DANGEROUS DOG.

OWNER ORDERED TO PAY COSTS. Charged on summons with keeping a dangerous dog, Leslie T. J. ilonteith appeared in the Police Court thk morning, and pleaded not guilty.

Evidence was given by a girl of 12 that the dog, an Alsatian, had rushed at her and bitten her on tlie thigh, tearing her dress. Another witness said that on two occasions the same dog had "gone for him" and that he would not walk on the same side of the street as the animal. Defendant's counsel said it would bo denied that the dog had bitten the girl. "Where is it now?" asked the magistrate. Counsel: It has been sent away to a farm. Will it be coming back?—No, sir. "That's a good job," said Mr. Hunt, who convicted and ordered Monteith to pay costs.
