PENROSE TRAGEDY.

BODY ON RAILWAY LINE. BADLY MANGLED. The mangled body of a man believed to be Ernest Lake, of 13, Springfield Street, Momingside, was found on the railway line at Penrose at 11.30 last night by Mr. Morgan Garrett, engine driver. Both legs had been severed, also tho head from the lower jaw. A motor driver's license was found on the body containing a note written on the back of the license, "Good-bye," signed "E.L.", also the address 13, Springfield Street, Morningside.

Evidently the man had been fatally injured by the train leaving Axickland for Papakura at 10.5 G.

An inquest is to be held.
