Reports presented to the Diocesan Synod disclosed a serious shrinkage in the income available to the Diocesan Schools Board. The committee suggested the revival of the method of raising funds by "the people's pence," which are contributions of a penny a week by those attending churches in the diocese, the money to be placed in a special contribution box at the door of the church. The report was adopted.
