OTAHUHU HIGH SCHOOL.
CHURCHES DESIRE TO HELP. A mooting of the Otalmhu High School Committee was hold on Tuesday, the chairman, Mr. C. R. Petric, presiding. A deputation from the ministers waited on the committee with certain suggestions regarding religious exercises in the school. The Rev. R. J. Stanton said the ministers recognised the great work and interest of the committee in seeking the welt'aro of the school, and they had como to the committee to suggest the possibility of extending to the children facilities for religious instruction. They asked would it be possible to open the day by a short reading from the Bible, followed by the Lord's prayer, and would the committee consider what part tho ministers could play in developing the character of the children. The chairman thanked the ministers for their oiler of assistance, and promised careful consideration of the question. In the discussion that followed no finality was reached, and decision was reserved till next meeting. . A meeting of parents to elect their representative, it was stated, would be held on July 4. Only parents with children attending the High School were entitled to vote. Advice was received of the appointment of Miss Evelyn M. Montgomery as dressmaker, Mr. Donald A. Lawrie as metalwork instructor, and Miss Ellen L. Park as relieving commercial instructress. ____
