DIPHTHERIA CASES.
Thirteen cases of diphtheria were ■ reported from the Melville School at Hamilton yesterday, and there are 1J ! oases in hospital. All are in a tiuld I form, but the health authorities have ; taken precautions to prevent the disease I 1 spreading. The school has been closed' r ! till Wednesday next, and the throats ot t; all tmnils have been swabbed. . f' Forty pupils of the Hamilton West 1 School are absent, and most of these 31 have como from families which have ' childi'en attending the Melville School.
