DAMAGE IN COLLISION.

CAR OWNER OBTAINS JUDGMENT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. In the Magistrate's Court yesterday .T. R. Palmer claimed £4 10/ from J. H. Marwick, this being the amount of damage resulting from a motor collision on the Otaika Road on the night of March 27. Defendant pleaded that plaintiff's car did not have a tail light, and that he did not observe the car until he was about 10ft from it, the night being dark and rainy. He said he was on his right side, and tried to prevent the collision, but the time was insufficient. riaintiff said the tail light was burning just before the accident, but was out after the impact. The magistrate gave judgment for the plaintiff for the amount claimed.
