. The spider is an excellent guide to the weather. Not only is he. extremely sensitive to the state of the atmosphere, but lie takes a keen interest in the habits of flying insects. He knows that they do not go out in the wet. When, therefore, he is ''resting" you may be certain that he is expecting rain. Should he be busy constructing a new web, it is a sign that he is looking forward to a fine spell —and he is generally right.
