MODERNISTIC HOME.

8.8.C. £650,000 HEADQUARTERS. LONDON, May 20. "A city within itself" fittingly describes the modernistic £050,000 new headquarters of the 8.8.C. It is replete with steel furniture with a severe decorative scheme. In fact, everything is in keeping with the corporation's up-to-date purpose. The majority of the 22 studios are artificially lit and ventilated in order to exclude all outside noise. Great ingenuity has been shown in the provision of devices creating "noises off" to represent shipwrecks, the wrecking of houses, and even dancing feet. Everything has been done to achieve a correct atmosphere. For instance, one room is designed with a church "motif' for religious talks, while another is fitted like a quiet corner of a smoke room to enable debaters to concentrate on their subject.
