CANTEEN FUNDS.

In your issue of the 14th inst. "Returned Soldier" writes on the canteen funds. I wish to most heartily support him. I would like all "Diggers" to do the same either through the Press or the various R.S.A.'s. If this suggestion is aetuarily sound it would be a godsend to us all, and the- clause re a ten years' residence for overseas soldiers is quite fair. We thank the canteen fund committee for conserving the funds, but surely now, when we have the worst depression the world has ever known, is the time to disburse, and especially in the form of pensions. Let us hope the funds will be consolidated and distributed in the very near future. 12/1342.
