CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR.
GROWTH OF ORGANISATION. EFFORTS TO BAISE FUNDS. The executive of the National Endeavour Union met at the Bcrcsford Street Congregational Church last night. The Rev. A. S. Wilson, senior vice-president, presided. The general secretary, Mr. Noel Carless, brought forward applications for affiliation from eight new societies, with 114 members. - These were admitted.
Mr. Harold Ennor was appointed lion solicitor.
A letter was received from the presi- | dent,' Rev. A. V. Seotter, 8.A., of Palmqrston Forth, agreeing to a tour on Christian Endeavour interests in the adjacent districts. The serious state of the union's finances waa referred to by the Bev. Knowles Kempton. Tlie penalty of success was the constant demands made upon headquarters, and extra clerical help was required. It was considered "the Christian Endeavour penny" —a penny a year per member—was insufficient" to meet the present demands. On tho motion of the Bev. J. Olphcrt, it was decided to hold a gift work sale in September. Mr. Alex, Binnio consented to take charge of the effort, and the hope was expressed that the various societies would co-operate. Tho secretary of the alumni who was present, also promised support.
