LYING BESIDE BED.
ELDERLY SWEDE'S DEATH. THE INQUEST ADJOURNED. The inquest was opened by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.A£., this morning touching the death of John Henricsen, aged 02, <a native of Sweden, who was found dead in his room, 82, Federal Street, yesterday. Henricsen was unmarried and lived alone. He was previously a seafaring man, but more recently he had been employed as a winchman. He had been suffering from a heavy cold and was last seen alive by a neighbour, Mr. T. Passmore, on Sunday night. Mr. Passmore this morning said he was awake about 4 a.m. yesterday and heard Henricsen get out of bed. Then he heard a noise as though he had fallen on the floor. He heard Henricsen breathing heavily and talking a great deal to himself. Not seeing Henricsen ' yesterday, he became alarmed and riot getting any response when he knocked on the wall separating the two house*. lie called the police. Henricsen was found dead on the floor with the bedclothes and mattress tangled around liirn._ Deceased had no relatives in the Dominion. The coroner adjourned the inquest to permit of a post-mortem examination to he made.
