WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.
TE ATATU. The Te Atatu branch of the Women's Institute gave a concert in aid of sending a delegate to tho Wellington Conference. The programme was well received by a crowded audience, including visitors from Auckland and Henderson. Pianoforte solos were given by Mrs. Buckley, songs by the Misses Bayley, Roberts and Semadini, and Messrs. Chadwick and Mickle; Haydn "Toy _ Symphony" by institute members; dialogue by Mr. and Mrs. Ulingwortli; monologues and recitations by Mrs. Mickle, Miss Shepherd and Mr. Mickle. Supper was handed round by the members and a one-act play, given by the Misses Hopper and Chitty, brought an enjoyable evening to a close. RAGLAN. The second birthday of the Raglan Women's Institute was celebrated in the Town Hall on May 18, when husbands and friends were entertained at a social. The institute choir, under the leadership of Mrs. J. Marshall Thompson, rendered some very pleasing items. Songs by Mrs. Glover, fancy dancing by Christine Seccombe, recitation by Yvonne Robertson, and a pianoforte duet by Mrs. J. B. Jackson and Miss Marjorie Donn were very much appreciated. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson won the waltzing competition, Miss Audrey Eng and Mr. Bert Williams tho Monte Carlo waltz, and a competition for children was won by lan Thomson. The president, in a short speech, welcomed the visitors. The birthday cake, which was iced by Mrs. Johns, was cut and handed round at supper
