Heavy frost made the greens slow for early competitors, in the Rotorua ladies' golf championship. • The first round resulted: —Mrs. Ferguson beat Miss McMillan, 6 and 5; Miss Hewitt beat Miss P. Hartley, 1 up; Mrs. Butler beat Miss Williams, 2 up; Mrs. Collinson beat Miss J. Black, 10 and 8; Miss Wilkinson beat Mrs. Parata, 4 and 3; Mrs. Guy Williams beat Miss Dyer, 2 up; Mrs. J. Wilson beat Mrs. Tapper, 8 and C; Miss Dudding beat Mrs. Shroff, 1 up at the nineteenth.
