CHRISTCHURCH COLLAPSE.

MORE MEN ACCEPTING WORK

CHRISTCHURCH, this day

There were to absentees among the relief workers on the Christchuych City Co-uncil and Waimakariri Trust jobs this morning. Similar conditions virtually obtained in all the suburban districts except Lyttelton. So the relief (strike here has been a total failure. The relief workers' strike showed further signs of collapse yesterday, when considerable numbers of men accepted work. On all works there were 1447 men working and 200 absent.

Of the absentees, the largest number? were from railway gangs, 70, and Lyttelton Borough Council works, 43.
