PEACE IN THE EAST.
The Japanese say that the Chinese soldiers broke up the peace conference, so that if war begins again Japan would have us believe that China is the aggressor. However, I believe if war does begin again the sin will not be at Russia's or China's door, but at Japan s. All the trouble in the East has been from the entry into China of Japanese troops. Russia is only preparing, so as to be ready to defend her territory in case of more trouble. Now if I brought a lot of troops to New Zealand and caused fighting could I say it was New Zealand's fault? No. I was the aggressor, therefore the blame is mine. Or suppose I go into my next-door neighbour's houSfl and upset his home, who is the one at fault? My neighbour or me? So again I say that bad Japanese soldiers not invaded China there would have been no trouble. In my opinion, if war breaks out again in the Last, Russia will not be the only country to come in, as many nations to-day have lost then faith in the League of Nations. pwvw
