ABUSE OF FREE SPEECH.
I have always advocated freedom of speech, thinking that those ignorant enough to oe unable to see through the palpable unreason of some speakers would be so small in number as not to constitute a menace. But I sec nov that people who can even read and write inaj allow' themselves to be dangerously influenced bv a self-seeking orator, however unreasonable, unfair, unjust and untrue his "tatementi. There must be some point at which the W" should step in and control such d"*?' 011 ' elements in the community. &IVD -
