Black ink is an infusion of gall nuts, ferrous sulphate, and a small quantity of gum. Coloured inks are made from chemicals and dyes; marking ink of silver nitrate coloured with lampblack. Copying ink is made from other inks ■by the addition of sugar or glycerine.
