LAND VALUERS MEET.
• The ninth annual meeting of the North Island Land Valuers' Association was held in falmerston jNorth last week, it was attended by members from Wanganui, Wellington, Marlon, Feilding and Palmerston North. Mr. F. S. Mcßae, of Palmerston North, was electcd president, and Messrs. Oscar Monrad, N. Gifford, It. E. Manley, F. li. H. Brice, F. H. Allen and A. A. Gellatly were elected as an executive committee. Important business was transacted relating to the valuation of town and country property. Mr* Monrad read a paper on world conditions, and advocated some method of controlled inflation as a means of assisting to overcome present difficulties. Mr. N. Gifford contributed a paper on problems of land valuation, with particular respect to the prices of our primary products. Mr. Manley interested the members in a paper on city valuations, and dealt with compensation cases. The association decided to support Mr. Monrad's scheme, and various organisations will be sent a copv of his address. The basic value of butterfat, wool, fat and store sheep was considered and certain readjustments made for the guidance of members when they are making their valuations. In the absence of the newly-elected president, Mr. 11. E. Leighton, of Wellington, presided at the meeting.
