COUNTY RATES SUBSIDY.
MUCH-NEEDED KELIEF. PROPOSALS FOR THIS YEAR, (By Telegraph. — Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. As tin result of representations made to Mr. Coates by Mr. A. E. Jtill. M.P., a* president of the .Vow Zealand Counties Association, legislation will probably be introduced this session allowing the subsidy on county rates given under the special legislation of last year to apply to all of last year's rates, even in cases where ratepayers have not paid the whole or a part of their rates. It is anticipated that this will afford much-needed relief to county ratepayers in various parts of the Dominion.
