MONEY DETAINED.

ACTION BY GERMAN BANKS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April 19. The Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Captain R. A. Eden, was asked in the House of Commons whether arrangements had been made for the restoration to British owners of remittances belonging to them which recently were detained in German banks while in transit from Budapest to London. In reply Captain Eden stated that the Foreign Secretary, Sir John Simon, considered it was clear that the British bondholders had a very strong claim to the return of these funds and the British Ambassador at Berlin again had been instructed to press this point of view strongly on the German Government.
