EXPORT OF FRUIT.
HEAVY SHIPMENTS. The export of apples and pears from New Zealand this season will constitute a fresh record. The total is expected to exceed 1,557,000 cases. Including those already sailed, the total shipments allotted to the Fruit Control Board number 33 vessels ibooked to carry 1,556,975 cases. Apart from very heavy shipments to London, Southampton and West of Britain ports, five large shipments will go to the Continent —four to Hamburg and one to Dunkirk, in addition to which there will be two consignments to Montevideo. Including ships loading and nearly ready to sail, the latest list of allotment provides for 23 ships to load 1,155,250 cases, which will practically finish the export season on May 27.
