SYDNEY PRODUCE MARKETS. BUTTER HALF-PENNY ADVANCE. (Received 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Tlie wholesale price of butter in Sydney was raised Mid per lb to-day to 147/2 per cwt. Potatoes promise to be firmer, owing to smaller stocks of Tasmanian. Onions arc selling well. New Zealand at £10 pci ton and Victorian at £15. DAIRY PRODUCE. New Zealand, white. 62/ to 63/ per cwt; coloured, 62/ to 64/; Australian, white, 60/ to 61/; coloured, 61/ to 02/; Canadian, 68/ to 72/. w. W. Bowker has received cable advice from London under even date giving the following market quotations:—Butter.—The market is firm. Butter.—Market steady: 106/ to 109/ per cwt. equivalent to 11.lid per lb, f.0.b., Auckland. . Cheese.—Market firm. Coloured. 63/ per cwt, equivalent to 5.03 d per lb, f.0.b.. Auckland; white, 6'2/, equivalent to s.Sid per lb, f.0.b., Auckland.
The New Zealand Producers' Co-opera-tive Marketing Association, Limited, lias to-day received a cable from London, dated April 3, reading as follows: —
Butter—Steady. New Zealand, 10S/ to 109/ per cwt; unsaltcd, 114/ to 116/; Danish, 116/ to 118/. Cheese.—Firm. White, 62/ per cwt; coloured, 63/. A. H. Turnbull and Co., Ltd., have received a cable from their principals, Messrs. W. Weddel and Co., Ltd., dated London, April 1, reading as follows: — Butter: Danish, 116/ ito 118/; New Zealand finest, 108/ to 110/; Australian, 104/ to 106/. Market steady. Cheese: New Zealand. white, 62/ to 63/; coloured, 63/. Market firm. LONDON FROZEN MEAT. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following report from its London office as at the close of business this week: — Wetheve: Large supplies due shortly are having a weakening effect on the market. Ewes: Smaller supplies have caused prices to harden. Lamb: There is a good demand, and the market is inclined to become firmer. Trade is generally brighter, with a better demand. Wethers: Light, 4%d to 4%d pel' lb; heavy, 3d to 4d. Ewes: 2Md to 3%d. Lambs: Twos, 6%d to 7 J Ad; eights, 6Vid to 6%d; fours, e'/fcd to 6%d; seconds, 6%d to 6%d. PRICE OF GOLD. (Received 12 noon.) LONDON, April 1. Tho price of gold is 108/4 per ounce, as compared with 109/1 per ounce on March 31.
