UNEMPLOYMENT INCREASE.
DOMINION FIGURES. AUCKLAND RETURNS STEADY. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. An increase of 471, bringing the total registrations to 45,383, compared with 44,912 a week earlier is shown by the return of unemployed men in New Zealand for the week ending March 28. The total includes men to the number of 29,182 in part-time employment under relief Scheme No. 5, leaving 16,201 unplaced, or standing down. The Auckland figures are:—Registered last we/, 5831; this week, 5817; on relief schemes, 4785 (4911); unplaced, 1040 (906).
