Fierce Storm Causes Anxiety on

Australian Coast

VESSEL ROLLS 22 DEGREES. (United P.A.—Electric Telegraph-Copyright) (Received 12.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. The steamer Marrawah, 600 tons, which sent out distress signals when it was disabled in the fierce storm between King and Hummock Islands, has reached Stanley, Tasmania, the crew and passengers being well. The Orama arrived from Adelaide after being tossed aboui like a cork in the heavy seas off Cape Otway.

The ship rolled 22 degrees, and the furnishings in the lounges were damaged and passengers bruised.

NORTH TASMANIAN STORMS

HOBART, March 28.

The worst weather for 30 years is reported from the north-west coast of Tasmania.

Much damage has been done to roads and houses along the shore, and railway and telephone communications are disorganised through storms. A repetition of the serious floods of three years, ago is feared.
