GIFT TO PRINCESS DAMAGED BY FIRE.—The model cottage, which was built by Welsh craftsmen as a birthday present for Princess Elizabeth, caught fire when being conveyed from Cardiff to the London Ideal Homes Exhibition. It was twenty-two feet long, eight feet wide, and sixteen feet high; weighed ten tons, and was equipped with electric light, hot and cold water, and all modern conveniences.
