RUSSELL CARNIVAL.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) RUSSELL, Tuesday. The Russell carnival concluded to-day with fishing competitions, and a dance, attended by visitors from Kerikeri and other districts. Recent visitors to Russell have included General and Mrs. Palmer, of India, who have teen staying at Oteliei Bay, and Mr. Stewart, of Singapore, is at Otehei Bay for big game fishing. Sir Cecil Leys has visited the harbour twice with his launch. Upon the return of Lady Yule's yacht Nahlin, and during the stay of the Diomede, there will be further festivities in the town.
