RADIO LICENSES.
OVER SEVENTY THOUSAND
LARGE INCREASE LAST YEAR. There was an increase of 11,000 receiving radio licenses in New Zealand last year, the total number being 71,453. Dealers in Auckland report an encouraging volume of business, although Wellington takes first place in the number of licenses issued. The Post and Telegraph Department has supplied the following table showing the number of receiving licenses for the four districts: — Dec. 1030. Dec, 1031. Wellington .. . 25,227 29,730 Auckland 18,180 21,344 Canterbury ... 10,014 11.471 Otugo 0,727 8,008 Totals 00,157 71,453 There v/ere on December 31 last 973 dealers' licenses, comprising 40!) in Wellington, 279 in Auckland, 157 in Canterbury and 133 in Otago.
