SECONDARY SCHOOL CADETS.
CHALLENGE SHIELD CONTESTS. The winner of the North Island Challenge Shield, presented by the " Press," Christehnrch, for competition among secondary school cadet battalions, was A Company, 2nd Cadet Battalion, Hauraki Regiment (Rotorua High School), for the second year in succession. The runner-up was B Company, 2nd Cadet Battalion, liauraki Regiment (Matamata High School). The South Island shield was won by A Company, 4th Cadet Battalion, Canterbury Kegiment (Christchurch Technical Battalion). Cash prizes of £10 are also awarded.
