Postsectional play in the rinks was continued, and pairs and singles competitions were advanced further stages. It is expected that the tournament will be concluded to-morrow. In a singles match tits morning Tyrrell (Roslyn) eliminated Foster (Caledonian). < The game between the two Auckland rinks, skipped by Maxwell and W. Brcmner, was closely contested ana full of interest from stari to finish. Both rinks came through without loss yesterday, and in anticipation of fine play the game was the cemtre of interest on the Christchurch gjreen. Spectators were treated to brilliant play, and the game had an exciting- conclusion. Walker scored three on tin: third head, but at the end of six heads his opponent had a lead of two. then had a good run. He notched four on the seventh and scored on the four succeeding heads to take the lead, 13—8. On the twelfth head Walker put in a block when he was lying three shots, but Breinner burnt the head. Bremner drove unsuccessfully in the next head, and Walker, who had two counters in, just failed to add a third with ai dead draw. With fourteen heads gone Bremner was 0 down. On the fifteeinth Hardley, with a running shot, sprang the jack, which finished up alive, but only by inches. The West End third drew the shot, and Walker just failed to take the kitty off the head. Bresmner, amidst applause, drew the shot itself. Walker was 3 up on the next hut Bremner, after missing a drive, pushed through three counters wSfch his second bowl and gained shot. There was fine drawing on hoth sides throughout the game, which was decided in favour of Linwood by one point. Even scoring marked the first seven, heads, then Sprosen established a lead of four alter the clevenith head. Duncdin notched three oij the twelfth, Sprosen playing short with both his bowls. Both sides took the lead in turn on the next two heads, and were on equal terms after the 15th. On the Kith Deare was lying two, and Sprosen promoted an opponent's bowl, putting liini three point behind. The rinks were level again on the last 3iead. The Linwood lead drew two good shots, but Gardiner rested one out :for second. With his second ho trailed "kitty" a foot, but was still one down. Deare was a bit wide with both his shcits, and the verdict went to Linwood. Although Dick had aji advantage of four after eight heads in his game with Edwardes, he could not draw to save five shots on the 13th head, and was defeated bv three.
