OSCAR GARDEN WINS.

BLIND FLIGHT PRIZE. LONDON, .January 16. Mr. Oscar Garden, the New Zealand hero of a flight from England to Australia, was awarded the first trophy for blind flying, a silver model of an Avro used in teaching blind flying at the school of air service training at Hamble. Garden beat F. D. Bradbrooke by one point, an<l Lady Bailey was third, one point behind Bradbrooke. 'Plie tests were carried out in a hooded cockpit, ail instructor accompanying each competitor to prevent collisions. The competitor had to take off, climb, glide, get into and out of spins, recover from awkward positions, and cover a 70mile triangular course, relying solely 011 his instruments. The trophy will be awarded every yea r.
