FIGHTING FIRES.
Parts of N.S.W. Threatened By Blazing Bush. CONTROL IN VICTORIA. (Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, this clay. The entire male population of the townships of Gunning and Jerrawa is lighting hard to save their property from destruction by bush lires. Both places arc threatened. The heat in the western district towns is again over 100 degrees. A drop in temperature and a change of "wind enabled the fire-fighters in Victoria to gain control of most of the fires.
